Summer finally arrived

Hi all. May was a busy month filled with the end of school, dance recital, parties, swimming lessons, and a big flood that made some of my friends have to leave their homes. My friends are all okay, but a couple of them are still out of their house, and I still pray for them. We celebrated Memorial Day and the arrival of summer with a trip to the zoo. I am so excited because we have flamingos coming to the zoo! We took Hallie for her first trip. I think she liked it but we didn't take her to see the snakes. They are a little scary for her. We also went to our pool because it opened! Mommy and Daddy love that I jump in now with no fear. Hallie comes along and sleeps most of the time with her little fan keeping her cool. She has tried the water but has screamed once she got in. If you know her you know she doesn't scream that often so I guess she doesn't like the water. Hopefully that will change one day. Happy Summer!

A visit to see family

We took Hallie to see our family. We saw Memie and Papa Nick, Granny and Grandpa, and our cousins and Uncle Scott and Aunt Cindy. It was good to see everyone. I had so much to show them all (my skipping, cartwheels, Hallie, etc.) and they had new things for me to play with at their houses. My cousins all held Hallie and just stared at her. My cousins also had new guinea pigs named Silly and Willie and I got to pet them. They were cute. Aunt Cindy walked me around her fairy garden and showed me where her fairies live. I wonder if Tinker bell visits there? It was a short visit and I can't wait to go back.

How special!

Hi all. I wanted to tell you how special this year at school has been for me. I love Ms. Kathy! She is so nice and a great teacher. She always had the best art projects and activities. She made me try everything first before I gave up. She even got me to eat pizza...with RED sauce which if you know me is amazing. My favorite thing she did for me this year was she made a poster when I became a big sister. She decorated the poster with lots of flowers and asked my classmates what a baby needs. She wrote all their answers down on the poster. I hung it up and read it everyday til I had memorized the answers. I loved my class and will miss her.

Swimming - can you believe it?

Hi all. When I last left you with my swimming last year, I would only put my face in for the Wiggles concert, and a sucker at the end of each lesson, and a Dora mermaid.....But this year is different! I took lessons from Coach Chapman with some of my friends and I can swim (note from mom - she may still drown but she can "swim"). I hopped in the pool the first lesson with no fear. I put my face in and didn't cry. And two weeks later I was swimming. Mommy says I have good form when I glide and float on my back. I am so proud of myself!

So much to see

My family has all these neat things at our house for me to look at. I really love fans, straight lines, lights, and windows. I also am really into my mobile. I especially like the bunny rabbit and will follow him all the way around, ignoring the lion and monkey. My swing is pretty great too. Mr. Seahorse hangs out with me on the swing. But my favorite thing to look at around my house are people's faces! I study them and try to figure out who they are. And I always smile at Mommy, Daddy, and Carlisle.

My First Dance Recital

Hi all. I love to dance and have loved having dance class every week this year. I pretend to be my dance teacher at home and my toys are my students. I show mommy and daddy what I learn in class and correct them when they don't do something right. I am constantly working on my dances moves. Since last September I have been working on my skipping, and I finally got it around my birthday - just in time for my first dance recital. I was so excited to have a dance recital and show everyone what I had learned. I got all dressed up and mommy put my hair in a bun and I wore a crown. I new all my positions and remembered my entire performance. I did get a little shy once on stage with those bright lights shining at me. But I kept my eyes on my teacher and didn't miss a beat. I can't wait til next year!

Mother's Day

What a great day we had with Mommy on Mother's Day! We served her breakfast in bed: Chocolate Chip Eggos waffles, coffee, strawberries, Chocolate and banana smoothies. Then after church we treated mommy to brunch. We had a great day pampering mommy!

My daily life

I have been having fun in this house. There is always noise and lots to look at. When I am not sleeping or eating or being held, Mommy moves me around a lot. I like my playmat but prefer to look at the star up above than be face down on the mat. If I am on my back I use my legs and scoot backwards around the mat. I am also in my carseat a lot. I like it almost all the time. I like to be covered up and snuggled with my blanket unless I am awake and then I prefer to kick my blanket off. As I mentioned before, I love to be held as Memie is holding me here. Give me a warm body and I will settle in nice and snug!

The Big Purple Ball

Hi all! If you have been to our house, you may have experienced jumping on the big purple ball. I am pretty good and can get pretty good "ups" according to daddy. Here I am at my game:

We tried putting Hallie on the ball. I think she liked it. What do you think?

Our Aunt

Man have we been busy! Playing, loving on each other and growing. We will try to catch you up while we have a chance (well, mommy can't go swimming right now so she has some time). Back in the Spring, Aunt Michelle came to visit. What fun we had! She met Hallie and played with me. We made pizzas and rode my bike. It was fun having her here!
