Kindergarten!!!

Kindergarten is officially here! I have been waiting all summer for it to start with excitement and some nervousness. I learned who my teacher was before school started. Her name is Ms. Calahan and she looked nice in her picture. I went to a Meet and Greet with Mommy to see the school and meet her. I took my backpack and rest mat. I got to unpack my school supplies and put them away and look around my new classroom. I saw a few of my new friends who would be in class with me and knew two of them already.

Then I came back for a half day of school with half of my class. I took Daddy with me so he could meet Ms. Calahan and see my classroom. We also brought Hallie with us.

I wanted my picture made outside the school by these lovely flowers before I walked in.

Then this is me outside my classroom. I asked Ms. Calahan is I could show my daddy around the classroom and she said yes. I showed him the pretending center and the reading center and my cubby. I went through the lunch line that day and got my own lunch.

I also had a full day with half of my class which was fun. Next up..the real thing!

Dear Friends

Summer is almost over and by this post, I will have been to kindergarten a total of 7 days. Just before big school started , Mommy let me play with friends who I might not get to see as much because they will go to another school. One of those friends is Corinne. She and I are one day apart, and she is my good friend. We played this night at her house. It is rare that we argue and can always find something fun to do together. This night we were playing horse show with her ponies. We were fixing their hair and giving them baths before the show. Mommy was a judge and chose Corinne's sister's horse over ours. I was devastated and sad. Corinne said that before I had to go she wanted to try to make me smile. So she sat me in the chair and did a dance for me. Then Mommy snapped this picture. Corinne is such a good friend.

Golf Date with Daddy

I had a golf date with Daddy the other day. Mommy whisked me over to the golf club after school (which I will tell you about later) to meet Daddy. I wanted to ride in the golf cart so we got one. I got better with each hole. We played 9 holes. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back.

My chore

Mommy and Daddy say I am too young to have a chore, but i have proved them wrong. I love Bear and am always looking out for him. I worry about him when he is at the door wanting to come in. I make sure he gets a pat from me. But most of all I want to make sure he is fed. I like to help with getting his food.

I have to get help with putting the food in the bowl.

Then I carry it to the spot by the water bowl.

Another time, I made sure Bear was following me. I think he knows I look out for him.

One time I tried to move his water bowl nearer to him and spilled the water. Mommy cleaned it up with a towel and took the towel to the laundry room. I went and got the towel and brought it to Bear to be near his bowls. Mommy says it is sad that we were not born closer together so we could grow up together.

The Fair

Let me tell you about the fair! Man what a place. There was so much to look at and do. We met our friends Perry and Lewis and their parents. We immediately went into a place where I could run around with a basket and put things in the basket. We were in an exhibit that showed us how a farm works.

Mommy ran after me and tried to help me just pick one thing for my basket in each area. But it was hard to follow that rule.

I really enjoyed feeding the cow and watching my sister milk the cow. But first we had to have our picture taken on the cow. Do you ride cows?

I really liked the basket!

After that fun area. we saw lots of animals which I all called "dog". Then we went to the rides. I was extremely frustrated that I could not ride anything but had fun watching my sister ride. Her favorite ride was the Tilt-a-whirl. She made daddy ride it twice.

I love the fair!

Walking on the wall

My sister gets to walk on the walls everywhere we go. So at Monteagle as we were paking up to go, I tried it. The walls were bumpy so I fell a lot. Carlisle held my hand and helped me on the wall. She's such a great big sister.

But I got mad when it was time to go!

The slide

There was a water slide at Monteagle, and I wanted to do it. It was in the deep end of the pool so I had to swim to Daddy after I went on the slide. I did it once and loved it!

I had to climb up the ladder and then carefully sit on the top until the lifeguard told me I could go.

Then I pushed off the top.

I went down fast!

Into the water I go...splash!

And then up for air and swim to Daddy.

So fun! I did it over and over again until Daddy said I had to stop.

My Monteagle experience

I had a few things to share about my time at Monteagle. I loved going on walks and adventures around the property. I loved finding pretty gardens and having my picture made by them. I took my flashlight on my adventures in case it was needed.

I found this great garden on a walk. I had to go into someone's yard to have my picture taken with this one.

I found this beetle on my adventure and used my flashlight to see it.

I enjoyed spending time on the playground at Monteagle. I loved the monkey bars and the bouncy horses the best.

This is where I spent most of my time - at the Hummingbird play area. I had fun with the kids and counselors.

I had such a great time on our trip!

Mommy tried one more time to get Hallie and I to pose for a picture at our time on the mountain. Here were the results:
