Turning 5 is BIG

I turned 5 this past month. Can you believe it? I am one whole hand now! I can write my name and most of my letters and numbers. I am learning to read and write words. I can skip, do a cartwheel and headstand, snap, and hulahoop. I play card games and board games. I play soccer and dance and sing loud in the car. Big girls do all kinds of things like get their fingernails painted...

and wear sparkly shoes.

Here I am with Howard the Dog at 1 year...

and here I am with Howard at 5 years. My how I have grown!

Thanks for following all my adventures!

Photographer's assistant

Mommy takes lots of pictures of us. When Hallie's having her pictures taken, I have to help make her smile so I clap my hands and make silly faces. Mommy takes monthly pictures of her like she did with me in the same outfit and with Howard the big dog. At 11 months old, we did this one day. Hallie smiled and laughed.

I then thought she should have her picture taken with all of the puppies I have.

She was moving them around and not leaving them were I wanted them to be in the picture.

Then she just quit on us. Oh well!

Want to do what they do

I am catching on to this thing called life. I have started noticing differences in the way things are done around here. I like to touch the light switches and garage door button, climb the stairs myself, and eat bigger foods. One day I reached for the banana mommy was cutting up. So I tried it. I loved eating it like she did.

She let me eat it, until I started eating and enjoying the peel.

Mild obsession

I have an obsession with Bear's dog bowls as you know. I love to watch him eat. When he sees me headed toward his bowls, he hurries over and quickly eats his food all up while I watch really closely.

Then I get a little closer and make Bear nervous.

When he is finished, I pick up the bowl and throw it done with a loud bang.

Then I show Mommy and Daddy how proud I am of myself.

I did play in the water one night and mommy let me get soaking wet. I didn't like it very much and cried. I don't do that anymore.
Hugs,
Hallie Mae

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day seems so long ago but it wasn't. We had a lot of fun at our house that day. Mommy and Daddy fixed fondue for us to eat - cheese and chocolate. Yum! I loved the chocolate the best. I would poke a marshmallow with a pretzel and then dip it in the chocolate.

After we ate, I opened all the cards we received in the mail and my valentines from school. Hallie even enjoyed her Valentine's card. We are so blessed by all those who love us.

Walking?

Hello all,
Well Mommy has been busy helping me walk and thinking I would do it myself since mid-January. She hasn't updated much because she has been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Well, I still don't walk independently but soon, I promise. In the mean time, I get around. I use anything that moves like my car or a chair. Or I travel from object to object. And I am fast. If you blink, you might miss me (or I will be up the stairs). Here I am working my way from the kitchen to the living room.

Hugs,
Hallie Mae

Good Times and Bad Times

My sister and I need to catch up on our adventures...We have been having lots of fun together. I like to take Hallie for rides on her car around the house. I think she likes it. I also sing to her in the car and tell her secrets. Hallie likes to touch our teeth - she is fascinated with teeth and toothbrushes.

But as Mommy says, that can all quickly change. I like to cover Hallie's mouth if she is too loud or cover her ears if something I think is too loud for her. She even bit my finger once when I stuck my finger in her mouth to touch her teeth. I cried and then she cried.

Hallie had to have tubes put in her ears during February to help with her ear pain. She is doing much better now and sleeps better.

Carlisle Drew
