Letter to Bear, take 2

Right after Bear Bear passed away, I wrote him a letter. Mommy put it somewhere special to bury it with his collar and a tree we were going to get for our yard. She put it somewhere so special that she can't remember where she put it! So I wrote another letter to him since we bought a tree for our yard this week.

The Letter said "To Bear Bear. From Daddy, Mommy, Carlisle, and Hallie Mae. We are so sorry your dog died. You were a good dog."

We buried the letter and his collar beneath the cherry tree in our yard. We all said our favorite things about Bear Bear, how he loved Kleenex, milk from the glass, snow, and leaves. He was a good dog.

Meatloaf

The other night Mommy fixed meatloaf with mashed potatoes (Nana's recipe) and green beans. She is quick to tell me that she did not like meatloaf as a kid. But she knows I love ketchup so she covered it in ketchup for me.

Here's what I did to my meal. Mommy doesn't think I ate any of it:

My gift to Hallie

Mommy reminded me on the way home from our trip (more on that later) that Hallie's birthday was the next day. I panicked and said that I had not gotten her a gift. (This is after our birthday parties with gifts galore and our trip which was a gift to both of us.) Mommy said I could use my own money and go buy something or I could make something for her. So I made her a scavenger hunt to find her gift from me. Mommy and Daddy thought I was so creative.

Here I am taking her on her scavenger hunt.

The clues are:
go to the stars (stairs)
go up the stars (stairs)
owpin the gat. (open the gate)
go bawn the hollway (go down the hallway)
go bop to the tent blloons (go bop the balloons in the tent)
go to front in to the tint (go to the front of the tent)

Then I made her a card. he card had a drawing on it and a joke. The joke was"
nok nok (Knock, knock)
hoowsis thar (who's there)
orang (orange)
orang hoow (orange who)
orang arent you glad that I dinin say boo hoo (orange you glad I didn't say boo hoo)

I was really proud of my work. I love my little sister.

It's my birthday

Finally, it was my birthday and time to sing to me. It was my actual birthday not just my party. I was so excited! Mommy got me a cupcake with Elmo on it. I love Elmo. He's on all of my diapers. I loved hearing my family sing to me.

I wanted them to sing the song again to me. Happy Birthday Hallie Mae.

I needed a little help blowing out the candle from Sissy.

Happy Birthday to me.

Hugs,
Hallie Mae

The real deal

Evidently the version of "happy Birthday" that my friends sang to me at my birthday party was not good enough for my mommy. She did not appreciate the high notes and the extra noises that they added. So my family sang "Happy Birthday" again to me with another cupcake!

I wore my crown that my teacher gave me from school. The birthday hat Mommy made does not fit anymore.

She always catches me blowing out the candle.

My family is wondering what I am wishing for....

Best Birthday ever!

The Anteater Project

I had my first class research project recently. We were doing a lesson on the rain forest, and I had to learn about an animal. I was assigned the anteater. I really wanted the Morpho Butterfly because I love butterflies, and these are blue.

So Mommy and I researched the anteater and learned a lot. I had to write about the anteater and some of the interesting facts I found. Then I had to create an anteater.

Here is my anteater. Mommy used to hot glue gun because I won't use it. I cut out all the shapes and told her where to put them. I also painted a lot of the parts. Notice the ants on the tongue.

In my report I wanted to talk about the different kinds of anteaters but Mommy said I need to focus on one. I did show a picture of 2 kinds and mentioned a fact about the other one I pictured. The most interesting fact to me was that the anteater can eat 35,000 bugs a day!

I was so proud of the work I did.

Some parting shots from the birthday party

We had so much fun busting out of our cocoons that there was toilet paper everywhere! My friends were throwing it everywhere. So Mommy and Daddy let us toss it in the air after the counted to 3.

We waited with giggles to throw the paper.

Then a big mess was made!

After the parties and the presents were opened, Mommy and Daddy said we had one more gift to open. So we opened these boxes that had matching shirts and Disney stuff in them.

Then they told us we were going to Disney World. We were so excited! We immediately got on the computer to look at pictures and see videos of what it would be like.

I asked Mommy and Daddy if we could have birthdays like this another time. I suggested at 16 and 26. They said that would be ok.

More from the birthday party

Mommy and Daddy helped me plan fun activities to do at my party. We had a butterfly picnic on the kitchen floor. We ate our dinner and cupcakes there.

Then we played a game where we had to look for nectar around the house. It was really candy Daddy had hidden all over the place. Then we played Metamorphosis. We had to crawl like caterpillars across the floor.

Then we had to be wrapped in a cocoon. After that we broke free and got our butterfly wings.

Here are my friends who came to my party. It was a fun night.

Carlisle's 6th Birthday

My birthday party fell on my actual birthday this year. How fun is that?!? I had a butterfly birthday party and invited my friends.

Mommy made these pretty butterfly cupcakes. Every girl got one.

She made some with caterpillars and some with wings.

We also decorated with house with butterflies, butterflies, and more butterflies.

More to come...

More from Hallie Mae's Birthday

I had such a great birthday party that I wanted you to see more. I celebrated my birthday party with my sister.

Mommy and Daddy got me my own "scooter". I love it! I like to ride fast down our driveway with my feet up.

I wasn't quite sure what to do with the candles, but I loved everyone singing to me!

My friends from school came to my party...Asher, Mia, and Garner. I think we look a little confused about being on the couch and not playing.

Hallie Mae's Birthday Party

I turned 2. I can sort of hold up 2 fingers, but can proudly tell you that I am 2 when asked. I had a birthday party. It was so fun! I had balloons, cupcakes, ice cream, and my friends. Enjoy these pictures from my party!

Jump Rope for Heart

My school has a lot of opportunities for exercise for us and exercise for our whole family. I have signed up to run a marathon. I am logging my activity hours for the hours that I am active. And then my school had an event for Jump Rope for Heart recently. Mommy came to jump with me. We had different stations to go to and use our jump rope in different ways.

At one station we used hula hoops to jump or twirl. I am pretty good at hooping.

Then Mommy and I jumped rope for a little while. It was fun!

Growing up

Lately I have been trying to show my maturity and make my own choices. I announced one morning that I wanted to use a big cup. I have since not been allowed to use one because apparently you can't spill it. I also announced that I wanted to sit at the table. So Mommy got out the booster seat. I made it about 10 minutes and then wanted down before I finished my meal. Mommy says I need to be contained still. So the booster seat sits waiting for another day.

Hugs,
Hallie Mae

It starts early

I spend a lot of time with Mommy during the day. I watch her get ready after we exercise. She showers, dries her hair, and puts on makeup. I usually tell her where I want her to stand to dry her hair, and then I usually help myself to her makeup.

I like to use her eyeshadow on my face, preferably my chin.

I am pretty proud of myself.

Hugs,
Hallie Mae
