Visit with Emma

In early January we had a real treat! We got to visit with Emma for an afternoon. My friend Perry and her brother Lewis joined us and we met her for lunch. Then we went to the park. It was so good to see her and play with her for a little while.

This is me with Emma and Perry.

This is Hallie and Lewis.

Ringing in the new year at the zoo

New Years around here was like Christmas Eve. The weather was beautiful. So we headed to the zoo. What a fun day! We saw the white monkey (a gibbon. She has been missing for a while. She had a baby with her and we learned that she is being a foster mom to this baby.

We ate lunch and then played on the playground.

Hallie found a slide just her size.

Then she wanted to try a bigger slide so we waited at the bottom..

while Daddy took her down the tunnel slide.

We rang in the new year with love! Happy New Year to you!

My first Chocolate Milkshake

I thought this was heaven and that I was something special. Now I want one all the time.

My mess

Sometimes I get bored during dinner and do things like this...

A closer look at my creation. Note the carrot on top.

Dressing up with Carlisle

Carlisle loves to change clothes. She has this big box of clothes in her room. One day she helped me pick out a dress and accessories, and we surprised Daddy when he came home with this:

Christmas Program

I forgot to tell you about my Christmas Choir program at church. I have moved to a new choir - the Agape Choir. We had to learn 4 songs. It was hard, but I did it.

I got to stand next to my friend John Mark. We stood next to each other last year.

The concert was great, and my choir did a great job.

Bowling is Fun

I love bowling. We took Granny and Grandpa bowling. At first Hallie didn't like the noise, but then got over that and liked throwing the balls down the lane.

First she picked out her ball and had to have help holding it.

Then she would push it with all her might.

She would watch it to see how many pins were hit.

Grandpa was a good bowler!

But I was better. Especially with my tongue trick I did with each throw.

Christmas with Granny and Grandpa

Granny and Grandpa came to see us this year after Christmas. We loved having them here and showing them all of our new things. We also got to open gifts with them. Granny likes to give everyone underwear. I think it's silly...can you tell by my face?

But I like my new underwear anyway.

Hallie got some diapers and then some new blocks that she had fun stacking and knocking down.

Stockings

I love seeing what is in everyone's stockings. Sometimes I am more excited than they are. I got a jump rope like the one I have a school.

Hallie got excited about her first toothbrush. It had Pooh on it.

Hallie also received these magnet letters which she loved because it sings songs.

I was really excited that morning. I just love Christmas!

Christmas morning

I usually sleep in but on Christmas morning, I tiptoes down the stairs. I briefly looked in the living room, and then woke up Mommy and Daddy with "There's a trampoline in the living room!" I couldn't believe it and wasn't sure how Santa got it in our house. He also left a gymnastics mat, a Barbie for me and lots of goodies in our stockings.

Here I am after waking up Hallie in her bed telling her there was a trampoline in our living room. I don't think she understood me. Then after sh saw it, she was so confused.

We love jumping in it!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a beautiful day outside. Daddy woke us up to pancakes made in the shapes of snowmen and santas.

Then we enjoyed the day together before we headed to our church's Christmas Eve service. I got to help Mommy and Daddy with serving communion. Then Hallie and I enjoyed posing for pictures.

We got to enjoy the rest of the evening at home and were eager to get to bed so we could wake up!

More from Memie and Papa Nick's

Mommy got a funny gift...a jar full of M & M's! There were things hidden in the jar for her to find. Hallie immediately wanted to help her look for them.

She was excited to just eat the m & M's that fell out.

In my suitcase, I got some special things just for me, but Hallie wanted to try them too. I helped her put on some lipgloss.

And I helped her try the Vanilla hand sanitizer.

We had a great time!

Christmas at Papa Nick and Memie's

We spent part of our Christmas holiday with our grandparent's Papa Nick and Memie at their house. Papa Nick and I watched a special on Winter in Yellowstone National Park. I was entranced!

Hallie and I performed a lot of songs and shows for the crowd.

We spent a lot of time waiting (patiently) to open gifts.

Papa Nick and Memie gave us our own suitcases which we ran circles around their house with.

Hallie Mae opened her first real baby doll. She loves it!

2012 already?!?

Well obviously we have been busy. I finally had time to sit down and share some pictures from the holidays. We went to our local library one day to see Santa and enjoy the festivities they had going on that day for Christmas. We first saw Santa. As you can see, Hallie Mae did not want anything to do with him. She did not stop crying until we were far away from him.

Next we went to write a letter to Santa to leave with him when he left that day. Mommy helped me write my letter. I wrote that I wanted a "4 kit Barbie Doll" (a Barbie set of 4 dolls) and a gymnastics mat. Mommy encouraged me to write that I wanted a trampoline and I was quick to point out that Daddy wanted that, not me.

It was a neat day. We saw a magician and little girls who played the violins. We even got to eat donuts!

You can see what Santa brought to our house soon.
