Rounding out the month of May

Finally friends, I will be caught up and done with my spring activities after this. I celebrated Mother's Day with mommy. She is the best mommy. I picked out a birdhouse to paint and put in our yard for the birdies to live in. It is very colorful and pretty but no birdies are living in it yet. We fixed pizzas for her. I think she had a special day.

I also finished school for the year. I really like Ms. Jennie and Ms. Candace and their classroom. Ms. Jennie helped me be creative and Ms. Candace read to me and helped me go to the potty. I will really miss them and don't completely understand where they went. Mommy says I will still see them in the hallway. They were great teachers.

Some other exciting things happening around our house are we have lots of new growth. Our plants (landscaping) are finally in and I help water them daily with Mommy. Everything looks so great and Mommy is happy. We are also growing some tomatoes (the ones that we stole last summer from my friend Lindy's house). We have 11 so far that are going to make an appearance. (Mommy hopes this will be the thing that makes me eat a tomato). We have baby robins living in our little tree in the backyard and some other birdies under the deck. Lastly, we have rabbits living in the middle of our backyard. They don't seem to mind Beardog and vice versa.

Stayed tuned for stories from my summer adventures!

Movin and Groovin

Just a few more things to tell you before I am finally caught up....Daddy finished my door in my little room (off of my bedroom). It has a sign on it it and one side says "Lemonade" and the other says "Puppet Show". I really like to serve "coffee-tea" and fruit. You must have money though or you don't get anything. I prepare everything myself and its all really good. So come see my new door and come hungry (for plastic food).

In addition to rocking out, I really love to dance to the Laurie Berkner video as we are doing in the pictures here. We are singing "Under a Shady tree". I picked out mine and mommy's outfits for the dancing. Do you like them?

Easter Week

Easter week was filled with lots of fun. We hid empty eggs around the house and hunted for them. We made cookies. And we dyed eggs. Mommy and Daddy love to dye eggs. I have a hard time being patient for the eggs to dye but I do like to decide what color different eggs should be. I thought we did a pretty good job this year and ended up with a colorful batch.

Easter Day was a bit chilly again but still a beautiful day. We invited our friends the Walton's over for lunch and play. The easter bunny did visit me and leave a basket for me. He also visited Willie and Ruby Walton and left part of his tail! I am glad that he didn't get hurt at my house!

More egg hunting

My last egg hunt was at Mommy and Daddy's Sunday School Class party. There are lots of kids and tons of eggs all over my friend Lindy's yard. It was still cold so I was bundled up in coat and hat. I decided at this egg hunt to look for more than just pink eggs. I found the golden egg which was pretty special. I also found an egg with friends Lindy and Corinne with a worm inside. That too was pretty special but I didn't take the worm home. I had fun playing with my friends and sorting through my goodies from the eggs. I did decide that it was ok to eat the candy that wasn't chocolate.

Spring Break

Hi friends!
I am still trying to catch you up on my spring fun. I went on my first Spring Break Trip this year. I went to visit Memie and Papa Nick and took a trip to the Memphis Zoo. The weather was still cold and had gotten even colder just in time for my arrival. We bundled up and headed into the zoo. They have a lot more animals than my zoo does and some very different animals. My favorite animal was the panda bears. I had to have my picture made with both (even though mommy said they may not turn out because of the glass they were behind). The boy panda was eating and the girl panda was sleeping. I asked the elephant zookeeper if the elephants had tooted that day but they didn't think that was so funny. I didn't understand because the elephants at our zoo toot and its pretty funny. I am really glad Mommy and Memie took me despite the cold.

Easter Festivities Begin

At the end of March, Easter festivities began. Mommy pulled out the old bunny ears for the annual picture. I tried to smile, and then I just had to be silly because those ears are silly and Mommy making me wear them is silly.

.

As usual the weather turned cold just in time for easter egg hunting. I had my first hunt in my neighborhood. When I arrived I saw the Easter Bunny. In years past I was not sure of these large fuzzy characters, but this year was different. I saw him, took off running, and gave him a hug. I even asked for multiple visits to sit in his lap. Then the egg hunt began. I remembered from last year how the hunt worked but was still a little slow to gather eggs. I was quite frustrated that I couldn't find any pink eggs. Daddy was frustrated that I would pass eggs on the ground and not grab them because they weren't pink. I still picked up a good amount with fun goodies inside.

Enjoying Life

After the dust settled from the birthday celebrations and Mommy helped me realize that everyday we didn't cake and ice cream, I started enjoying life again and some of the new things I received for my birthday. I made sock puppets from a kit that Granny and Grandpa gave me. I now have performing on a regular basis at the puppet theatre: cow, pig, snake, boy. I also collected a few dog and cat puppets. Mommy and Daddy have gotten pretty good at coming up with story plots and songs that incorporate everyone.

I also really enjoy my baby carrier made by Ms. Abby, Perry's mommy. I love to carry my babies around the house while I work. Sometimes I have a hard time deciding who will get to ride in the carrier first. All the babies want a turn.

Lately, I have been feeling very grown up and needing the opportunity to do new things. I took on babysitting in the Spring and my first customer was Perry (15 months younger than me!). She came over to play and I was constantly reporting to Mommy what she was doing at all times (sometimes tattling)and asking if she needed her diaper changed (my favorite chore!). I soon realized that I should leave the sitting up to Mommy and have fun with my friend. Perry and I fight one minute and laugh at each other the next. I guess it will be that way since our mommies are friends.

One last hoorah

The last of my birthday celebrations took place with my grandparents and cousins and aunt and uncle. By this point, mommy was tired of celebrating but I was still going strong. I first went to Memie and Papa Nick's house to open gifts. They gave me a huge dressup box with lots of tutu's and fun things. Mommy said she used to wear some of the things in the dressup box. I tried to make her show me but she only managed to get a tutu on her head - silly Mommy. This is a new favorite thing in our house. I like to do ballet but am too busy to learn from mommy yet. There's too many rules and things to remember.

My cousin Holden and I share a birthday. He turned 11 and I turned 3 so I went to Granny's to celebrate our big day. I had fun with my cousins while I was there. I made Dylan open gifts with me which I am usually a little shy around him because he is so tall! We had bubbles and cake. What another great day!

The big shindig

The big day finally arrived with much excitement. I shared a birthday party with my friend Corinne. We invited our friends and their families so there were lots of people celebrating with us. We had a "C" themed party since our names started with "C". We played all night and had so much fun. We really giggled at everyone singing to us and then enjoyed our ice cream and brownies. It was a great party and birthday.

Taking a break from the birthday parties

Mommy said there was a lot of celebrating for my birthday so we took a day off and played. That morning while Mommy was getting ready, I asked to try on some makeup. I put it where I thought is should go: blush on the cheeks and eyeshadow on the forehead. What do you think? I am ready to help you with your makeup the next time you visit.

I have also found a love of watching people play guitars. I check out this video from the library every week (thankfully they have 3 of the same video because Mommy says I have to share it with other children). The video is Laurie Berkner. We have her cds but I didn't really enjoy her until I saw her play a guitar and then my obsession began. She makes the guitar look fun to play. So I grab my guitar and play along with her and sing really loud. I tell Mommy I am "rocking out". My guitar has a whammy bar that I will push and I lean back like a real guitar player. Mommy and Daddy aren't sure where I learned this move or if it just comes naturally to a child electric guitar prodigy. I also love the Wiggles - specifically Murray - because he plays the guitar. Mommy has said we will go see them if they come to our city. I am going to take my guitar to show Murray because I think he would be impressed with my skills. I do let other people join in my fun but they have to play bass guitar or keyboard. All of this has made my parents wonder if I am going to be an entertainer on stage wearing lots of makeup. What do you think?

My actual birthday

On my actual birthday, Mommy picked me up from school and we went to the grocery store to pick out dinner and a balloon because "Birthdays Bite". Mommy really tried to get me to pick out the pink one with kitties on it. I don't understand why she didn't like the dog balloon. I fell asleep in the car on the way home from the store holding tight to my balloon. Mommy tried to wake me once at home but i just curled up on the couch with puffy coat and hat on and slept for almost 2 hours. I was pooped from the big day. After waking and having dinner we celebrated with chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles. I even licked the icing off the candles but accidentally tried to eat the candle...and then got wax stuck in my teeth which Daddy had to dig out. My favorite thing I received for turning 3 was scissors, but I am only allowed to use them with supervision. You can see the excitement on my face from cutting paper. I love it!

The week long birthday celebration

Turning 3 is a big deal if you don't know. It involves celebrating a long time and with many people. So I did. I invited my friends over Travis and Taylor. We had yummy pizza and played, played, played. I am getting better at telling them apart but will still occasionally say "Where's the other one?" and call both of them "Taylor".

I also celebrated with friends at a playgroup at my house playing with balloons and eating cupcakes. At the end of it all I went to see the play "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" with buddies John Mark and Audrey. It was a great, and I loved watching the people act. It was my first play to see and Mommy said I did a great job sitting through it and paying attention - its hard to sit still that long! I love Lilly because she wants to be so many things when she grows up and is always playing and having fun. Today I want to be a big sister like Lilly is but Mommy says not yet.

Next...birthday party extravaganza!
