End of Soccer

My last soccer game was this past week. It was a good season, and I scored the last goal of the season. (I fought really hard the whole game to try and score. Daddy was helping coach, and I was getting pretty frustrated that I couldn't score. Finally I got the ball and ran down the field.) I received patches each game. I got all the patches except the "blood" patch which meant I never fell and hurt myself.

Each week for practice, I was pretty stylish (as below) with hand-me-down soccer clothes from some older friends and cool socks from Ms. Emily in Arkansas.

Halloween 2011

You saw earlier that I was Glimmer the Fairy and Hallie was a lion for the Fallfest, and we wore these costumes again for Halloween. Mommy tried to recreate a fairy face for me. I told her she did a good job for her first time.

Mommy and Daddy decided to dress up once our guests arrived all dressed up. Mommy was Annie and Daddy wore doctor clothes.

We invited some of Daddy's students over to eat and trick-or-treat with us. Mr. Neal (in the big hat)is from Northern Ireland and had not been trick-or-treating before or experienced an American Halloween. So Mr. Neal, the good witch and the bad witch took us around to the houses. We had a great time!

The Great Pumpkin Cookies

Every year we make these yummy cookies ONLY at Halloween. It was a tradition Mommy had with Memie. Hallie and I helped with making the cookies...well, we licked the beaters.

Then Mommy puts icing on the cookies. We get to decorate the faces on the cookies with candies and sprinkles. I loved it. Hallie just ate the decorations.

I would love to share some with you.....next Halloween!

Sissy's shoes

I have a thing for shoes. I love my shoes. When I don't have my shoes on, I want to put them on, and will say "Shoes, shoes". But what I really like are my sissy's shoes. If she has left them lying around, I will try and put them on and walk in them. I know one day I will fit in them.

Hallie Mae

The 2011 Pumpkins

I always help Mommy pick out the pumpkins and designs for the pumpkins. Daddy carves them. Hallie and I did help scoop out the insides. Hallie tried to eat it - yuck! This year I picked out a cat, a witch, and a pumpkin face. The cat was the favorite by far, and Daddy got lots of compliments on Halloween night.

A few Hallie shots

Hallie, for those who don't know, is such a joy in our lives. She makes us laugh, smiles a lot, and wants to do whatever "Sissy" is doing though she doesn't want "Sissy" to always know that. She is a "hot mess" as someone said the other day to me. She is constantly dirty. She is brave and has no fear. She loves Bear dog - more than the rest of us. She likes to eat. She likes to sing. She talks a lot though we don't always understand what she is saying. She needs her naps. She likes walks in her stroller. She likes to try and be big. She doesn't like her food cut up. She likes to feed herself. She likes to help us cook and with chores around the house. She bites when she is frustrated. She spits and thinks it's funny. She is VERY social and says "Hi" and "Bye" loudly so people know she said it. She finally likes books. She loves Elmo and animals. And she loves her Sissy.
The other day she and Carlisle played by themselves upstairs quietly. It was a first, and we were happy and sad at the same time. She has friends from school Mia and Asher (who she calls "Ashoo"). When she saw Mia at the Fall fest, they hugged each other like they were 16 year olds. It was precious! On our camping trip, she refused to take a nap but was content playing in her crib. So she would asked to be pushed in her stroller and fall asleep in her stroller.

She's Hallie Mae!

Fall Break Camping Trip

For Fall Break this year, we went camping at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama with our friends Travis and Taylor and their parents. It was so fun! We stayed 3 nights, and the weather was beautiful.

We hiked to a waterfall and played in the water. The water was cold, but we didn't care. (Travis is on my left and Taylor is on my right)

Daddy carried Hallie on the hike. She didn't care for the backpack as much as I did.

On the way back from our hike, the boys and I decided to climb up this rock. We did it all by ourselves. Mommy, Daddy, and Ms. Jennifer didn't even do it!

We also really loved the hammocks that they brought. The boys and I played on the beach near our campsite and played Star Wars which is their favorite thing right now. We ate lots of smores too.

Hope we go back soon!

Fall Fest

We went to our sixth Fall Fest last weekend. It was at my old school and now Hallie's school. There was a new facepainter this year so we went to that first. I had a butterfly painted on my face. It really went well with my fairy costume. I am Glimmer the Fairy who is a friend to Tinker Bell. She is coming out in a movie soon about the Pixie Hollow Games. I think she is a sporty fairy. Hallie is a lion.

We rode the ponies which I loved.

Hallie liked looking at the "neigh, neighs" but did not like riding them.

We had our picture made at the festival.

Then at the end while I was watching the magic show, Daddy took Hallie to get a balloon from the balloon man. he asked Daddy what does she like. He said animals - horses. So the man created this ride horse. It was SO BIG. But Hallie loved galloping around with it on. It was funny!

We had a great time at the fall fest!

Trains, Scarecrows, and Granny at Cheekwood

Earlier this month,Granny came to hang out with me one day when i didn't have school. I was sad not to go to school but excited that Granny was coming. We went to Cheekwood because they had a train exhibit and the scarecrows were back. I loved the trains and spent a lot of time there. Finally we looked around at the scarecrows and Granny took my picture next to the ones I liked the best.

Thanks Granny for coming to watch me!

More kindergarten mayhem

We have had more kindergarten activities lately. We studied the farm and the things about the farm. We had our musical program called A Day on the Farm. It lasted 15 minutes which was perfect for Hallie's attention span and the amount of snacks she had. We had to dress up for the musical program as something from the farm. After another session of much discussion and debate, mommy helped my come up with a rose garden. We went to the store and picked out flowers. We took them home and made a collar and saved some for my hair. The night of the musical production mommy got me ready and I told her I didn't want to be a rose garden and asked if people would laugh at me. As you can see, mommy thought I was beautiful, especially compared to those dressed as farm animals.

Then we had a farm breakfast (provided by our parents) where we dressed up as farm people. We had food that comes from the farm (sausage, biscuits, milk, eggs, bacon, and juice).

I dressed up as a farm girl.

Hallie even had a good time and ate what I didn't eat which was everything but the biscuits!

The messy yogurt phase lives on

Mommy tells me often that I am a mess. I try not to be. She also tells me that Carlisle was messy too when she ate her yogurt. I really love it and can't get it in my mouth fast enough. Sometimes food is just better when you have it all over.

Hugs,
Hallie Mae

Ready for Halloween

We are ready for Halloween around here which is good because it is next week. I am going to be a fairy named Glimmer (who is Tinker Bell's friend) and Hallie is going to be a lion. We have been decorating, painting pumpkins, and trying not eat too many candy corns.

Second Soccer game

I will break the suspensefulness......I scored! During the second game, I had a break away as you see here, and scored my first goal!

I was of course embarrassed but excited.

Granny and Grandpa came for the weekend to see me play.

Since then I have scored 2 more times and had several assists. I am really enjoying soccer.

A Sunday trip to the Zoo

One Sunday after Hallie had been sick all weekend, we took a trip to the zoo to get some fresh air and get out of the house. It was a beautiful day and our whole family went. We had a treat to see the tigers up and about. We watching this one take his time walking around.

After a big walk around the zoo, we hit the playground which is new favorite place to go. I still love to swing.

And Hallie does too.

It was a fun day!

Lots of Kindergarten Activites

Someone told mommy that there is no homework for kindergarten, except for the parents. She says this is true. My first "homework" was based around studying nursery rhymes. We first started with "Wee Willie Winkie". Our class was going to create a town with buildings, shops, and restaurants created by us using the same pattern (alliteration) as W,W,W. So I came up with "Carlisle's Candy Castle". We had to make it out of a shoe box. So Mommy and I spent a lot of time one weekend while Hallie was asleep building, cutting, gluing, and sticking stickers and pom-poms. Here is the finished product:

Then we had to dress up as a Nursery Rhyme character for a parade and breakfast. After much debate and discussion, I decided to dress up as "Jill" from "Jack and Jill". Ms. Calahan paired me with a "Jack" from my class for the parade.

We walked all over the school while the other grades, parents, and teachers watched and clapped. It was exciting!

Then we had a breakfast provided by our parents in the cafeteria. I especially liked the star-shaped rice krispy treat, pumpkin muffin, and chocolate tart!

Party for Uncle Andrew

By now Uncle Andrew is in Africa, but before he left, we went to a party for him. There were lots of people there and lots of desserts! There also was a pool and I really wanted to get in but Mommy didn't bring a suit for me so I just stuck my feet in. Hallie got soaked by the water fountains that shot out of the sides. She's a mess.

We loved getting to see him before he left.

He's so great.
