Hallie got babatized

I like to play church sometimes. I light the candles, lead the choir and babatize babies "in the name of Jesus". I had been paying attention to know that we might go up front to babatize Hallie one day. I kept asking when was it our turn. And finally the day came. I had my toenails painted sparkly purple just for the big day. She was such a cutie and didn't fuss. Family and friends came to see us. Grandpa babatized Hallie. I loved it and loved everyone being here. The best part was we went and ate waffles after. I had chocolate chips on mine to celebrate!

Stitches are yucky

I have now officially entered childhood. I have been to the Emergency Room at the hospital.

It all started at the pool when mommy said "1 more jump and then we were going." She turned her head to check on Hallie and then heard me scream. Blood was running down my chest and I had hit my chin because I had just watched another girl jump in back first. Another mom (who’s a nurse) and a dad helped us. We made it home and changed headed to the hospital. I was very brave through the whole process. At the hospital, they put numbing goo on my chin that had to sit for 45 minutes. The actual procedure was scary but I was brave and did not cry. Mommy held my hands. There was a lady who read to me while my stitches were going in and she had these cool wands with things in them like snow and animals. I had 5 stitches and told everyone about my bandaid. Getting the stitches out was harder and I did cry a lot but am glad the whole thing is over. Lots of people have shown me their chin scars (there are lots of chin accidents!) and someone told me only cool people have chin scars. We'll see...

Our uncle is funny

Uncle Andrew came to see us recently. He is going to Africa soon to help some kids who don't have mommies and daddies living with them. He is going to be gone for a little bit so we wanted to play with him before he left. He is really fun and makes me laugh. Hallie liked him too but I didn't really give her a lot of time with him.

Sparkles and braids

Mommy wanted me to share a note about 2 of my favorite things...sparkles and braids. I love braids when Mommy has time to do them. She is trying to learn to french braid. Mommy is trying to let me pick out my clothes and dress myself. I also like to pick out my hair style and have requested but never received one braid and one ponytail with different heights and different colored bows. And I love sparkles any way I can get them - on my face, toes, clothes, art, shoes, etc. Everything is better with sparkles!

Mommy says I am pretty cute

What do you think?

My life keeps getting more exciting

Being a baby is so fun. I love life! I have really enjoyed spending time in my exersaucer. There's a frog on water, balls in a tube, music, flower for me to suck on, a fuzzy snail for me to eat - it's the best! Carlisle has enjoyed spinning me in a circle in my saucer. When Mommy asks what she is doing, she says "dancing". Well, she is holding my hands and spinning me. I love it!

I also have figured out my thumb and where it goes. It's a great thing to have when I can't find my pacifier.

Growing friendship

My big sister is so great. I love watching her and seeing how she does things. I find her fascinating! She moves a lot and is very fast. She talks and sings and sometimes I try too. She loves to pick me up a lot and tries to carry me. She moves me around a lot. I think we are going to be good friends. Though she doesn't like it when I drool on her or pull her hair.

Going to Bald Eagle (Monteagle)

Hi all! It has been SO hot here. We have been staying indoors a lot. We went back to Bald Eagle, Monteagle is the real name, this year. It was even hot up on the mountain. We had a great time and spent a lot of afternoons on the screen porch playing and resting. We took one hike this year - we didn't take more because of the heat and Hallie wouldn't have been able to go very far. We took a day to go see Ms. Amy, mommy's friend from college, and her girls Piper and Stella. It was nice to be there and have a break frow our hot weather.

A few more hand-me-downs

Here are a few more pictures of me and my sister in similar outfits. Mommy let me help with the photoshoot of Hallie. I got to choose the next outfits and make her smile. I also took a few pictures at the end with the big camera. Hallie had fun and loved pulling her dresses up to her mouth.

Hand-me-downs

Mommy has been taking pictures of Hallie in some of the same outfits I had to see if we look at all alike...what do you think? And check out this picture of my cute little sister. I could never wear this little hat but Hallie can.

Hallie - the happiest baby

Mommy keeps saying I am so happy. And why wouldn't I be? I love my family. I have it pretty good.I really like my pacifier but earlier this summer discovered my hands and have been trying to suck my thumb. It frustrates me so I just suck my whole hand.

I am also on the move. When I am on my back, I am going places and can't stay still (in the bed, on the floor). When I am put in my swing without being buckled, I try to escape and find it funny that they want me restrained.

Mommy also says I am "Messy, messy, messy" and sings this often to me which makes me laugh. I think she is referring to the drool coming out of my mouth. I always have something coming out of my mouth and can drowned an outfit quickly. Mommy said she is actually using the bibs and burp cloths with me. I also like to spit up...a lot.

The last thing I want to share is that I can go to sleep pretty much anywhere, but lately, I am doing some funny things according to mommy and daddy. I will pull a blanket over my head (to cover my eyes from the light that is still on or to block out the noise that is around me) when I go to sleep. They think its funny, but I am just trying to give them a hint.

Creek Stomping

We have been trying to find things to do so we are not out in the hot weather that we have been having. A friend of mine told mommy about the creek in our neighborhood so we went. And had fun. Mommy and Hallie even came. We have so many creeks that are all around our area but it is nice to have one in our backyard.

This season at Crockett

We spent some of our summer evenings at Crockett with a picnic and dancing to the music again this summer. We got to share this with Granny and Grandpa who came in to keep Hallie while we went to see Beauty and the Beast. I heard the Eagles and Beatles, but the best concert of the season was the Michael Jackson concert. I know a few of his songs so I got to sing along. Mommy and Daddy were so excited and didn't want to leave even when it started raining. So we stayed under the umbrella. I loved watching the dancing.

I also have been working on conquering the monkey bars. I had tried at school but could only make it to 3 bars. Then I figured it out and showed everyone at Crockett one night and did them all! The trick is you have to move like a monkey.

Our Daddy

Part of being a sister is sometimes dressing a like. Mommy has a few things for us to wear that match. I picked out these outfits to wear on Father's Day so everyone would know we were sisters and went with Daddy's shirt and tie I made (see photo below). He wore hie tie proudly to church and got lots of compliments. I made it extra sparkly.

On Father's Day, I took Daddy to see Beauty and the Beast at the theater and it was magical! I love singing the songs from the play/movie. Daddy thought it was pretty good too. What a great Daddy we have!

June Bugs

June has come and gone but filled with lots of activity. We had lots of June bugs at our house (or Japanese Beetles). I helped Mommy look and even get rid of them. They love our yard but make mommy cry so I knew I had to help her feel better about getting rid of them. When I wasn't swimming or looking for bugs, I was busy watching movies with my family (my choice of course) and helping with Hallie a bunch. I also helped celebrate my friend Perry's 3rd birthday. She had a Mamma Mia themed birthday complete with a wedding dress and cake. I left with a veil which I love. What a fun month!
