Treehouses at Cheekwood

Memie and Papa Nick visited us this past weekend. We had such a great time with them. Memie took us to see the new Treehouse exhibit at Cheekwood. The Treehouses were created based on books. We loved it!

Report Cards!

We had to run up to school for one last thing last week...report cards! Hallie Mae went with me, and I wanted her picture made with me in front of the school.

Then I took my picture in the same spot as I had on the first day of school.

A few last moments as a kindergartner

After the kindergarten celebration, Miss Calahan had all the students and parents back to her room for her own celebration. She showed a slide show of our year in her room. Then she passed out our memory books. Here is a picture of a drawing I did at the beginning of the year and then one I did at the end.

Miss Calahan wrote a note in my book "Oh the Places You Will Go". I want all of my teachers to write it in so I can remember them.

Kindergarten Celebration

A week ago I finished my kindergarten year. Can you believe it? I had a kindergarten celebration at school. All the kindergarten classes performed a few songs for our family and friends who came.

My class had to recite "Hickory Dickory Dock" during the Nursery Rhyme part.

Then we all were recognized by having our names being called and getting to shake the principal's hand. I was very confident as I walk across to Mrs. Sparrow.

Syrup is good

I love dipping food into dips and sauces but my favorite is syrup. It is so good.

I like to dip my spoon in the bowl.

But what I really like is to drink the syrup.

It is so good!

Field Day

I experienced my first field day! What fun! It was a hot day but we played lots of water games to make up for the heat. Mommy and Hallie Mae came to watch me and my friends run around and play the games. Our first game was a wet one. We had to get a sponge wet and then fill up a tin can with the water from the sponge. The first group to fill up their can won.

We played lots of games but the hardest was the tug-of-war. I laughed the whole time as we pulled. We did not win but had fun anyway!

Our creativity

While Mommy cooks dinner at night, Hallie Mae and I are usually busy playing. One day recently this is what we came up with... I would rag Hallie Mae and her babies around in the basket.

We were both entertained and happy so mommy approved.

Ms. Kay

I already miss Ms. Kay. She was my teacher this year. I loved her, and she loved me. She said I was so funny and smart...of course I am. She said I was a great student which Mommy and Daddy appreciated me behaving at school. I usually threw my fits when Mommy came to pick me up from school. I didn't want to leave! I will miss her dearly.

Our mom is the best

Hallie and I wanted to make Mother's Day really special for Mommy. I ran downstairs on the morning of Mother's Day and told her to stay in her room until we came and got her. Once we made breakfast and got things set up, we led her into the kitchen with her eyes closed.She opened them to this and pink pancakes! I wanted her pancakes to be extra special! She loved the painting of me and the pancakes. Hallie Mae gave her a pretty painting she made with her finger prints and I gave her a book I made at school all about her.

She said she was blessed and had a great day.

My teacher is getting married!

My kindergarten teacher, Miss Calahan, is getting married to Mr. Kevin. We surprised her with a wedding shower (with the help of our parents) during class one day. She was so surprised! We blew bubbles as she entered the room.

We made her a pretty veil for her to wear during the shower. I think Mr. Kevin liked it.

She opened several gifts from us, but the best one was a book we made called "Kindergarten Thoughts on Marriage". We all had to draw a picture and write what we thought being married meant. I said "Being married means having a family." We also had cake and snacks.

I have a lot of hair.

I have a lot of hair. Mommy is always trying to pull it back in a barrette, but I like it like this..messy! It is even long enough to get it in ponytails!

I also like to say I am two!

And then I get distracted at the task at hand and point out a passing airplane.

Spring Soccer

Spring Soccer has come and gone, but not without some memorable moments. I was still on the same teams "The Daisies". We had a few new players on our team,but it was mostly the same from the fall. At first there was lots of rain which canceled practices and then games. Then (the day this picture was taken), I told Mommy all day my throat hurt. She thought it was my allergies. Then as we pulled up to the field for the game, I asked her what would happen if I threw up on the field. Mommy was nervous but made me play anyway. I was tired through the game but fought hard for the ball and made my first goal of the season. I got the blood patch for the game because I played when I didn't feel great. It turns out I had strep throat.

Then the last game of the season we only had 6 players show up and the other team had 12. We split into to teams so really my team had 3 players against their 6! My teammates and I were unevenly matched though they had no clue and by halftime my team was winning 6 to 1. I scored a goal but mostly fought hard on defense. In the last 5 minutes of the game, the other team let all of their players play against the 3 of us. They did not score and we still won!
