Day three of the BIG Snow

By the third day of the BIG snow, the sun came out and Mommy was a little tired of the snow, but Daddy and I weren't. We headed back out because the ice had melted and the snow was perfect for making snowmen and snowballs. So we got to work. First we made Frosty and then decided that he needed a family. So mommy ran around the house looking for items to use to dress them while we built a mommy, girl, and dog. Several people stopped and took pictures. We were pretty proud of our accomplishment. Mommy came out to take a family picture and our neighbor Mateo joined us by Bear dog.

After we warmed up inside for a while, Daddy and I surprised Mommy with a belated "surprise birthday party" in my room with costumes included. What a great way to end our 3 day snow celebration!

Day two of the BIG Snow continued

Here are more pictures from day two of the BIG snow. We finished the snow fort and I had a place to sit inside it. We discovered that our road had a great small slope to slide down with the layer of ice on it so I went sledding with anyone who would let me sit in their lap, then Daddy would pull me back up so I didn't have to walk. I also have a picture of Mr. David and Ms. Lindsay who have been with us. They will be moving soon and that makes me sad, but they said I can come visit them at their place.

Day two...The BIG Snow

Over night the BIG snow added a layer of ice on top of the snow so we were definitely snowed in at this point. The ice was an inch or more thick according to Daddy. Our plans of building a snowman and making snowballs were not possible. I didn't even break the ice when I stepped on it! Bear Bear was allowed to come out but had to be tied up. He insisted on sitting in the middle of the street which was ok because there was not an traffic.

Daddy made an alternate plan to make a snow fort by breaking the ice and stacking it. I thought this was a great plan and loved stomping on the ice and bringing him big pieces. Mr. David and Ms. Lindsay came out to help too. We took a break and tried sledding down the big hill behind our house. I didn't go though because it was too fast and scary watching Ms. Lindsay do flips off the sled and Daddy crash into the woods. Stay tuned for more to come....

Sledding with Perry..The BIG Snow continued

So we left our house late in the afternoon and the roads were clear but the snow was still coming down hard. The snow was actually hurting my face as it hit but I didn't mind because I was so excited to go sledding. Daddy took me down a small hill a bunch on the orange saucer and the oldie-but-goodie sled. I loved it! Mr. Jim and Ms. Abby went down too. Mommy went down once as she was the photographer and videographer. Daddy took Perry and I down for one last time when we decided we should all head home because the roads were now covered. We all had a great time.

The BIG Snow

Hi all! I have seen snow in my life (see February 2007, March 2008, February 2009), but I experienced something this winter that I have never experienced before...The BIG snow! Mommy and Daddy had been saying that a big snow cloud was coming but even they didn't know what that meant. Here where we live it can snow as tall as an ant and people say it snowed a lot. So it started to snow on Friday morning but very slow. Daddy came home at lunch and we immediately got our snow gear on and went outside. The flakes were big and fat and hitting out faces. Bear Bear loves the snow and he got to run free. He was so excited. However, he can't hear well anymore so he couldn't hear Mommy and Daddy yelling at him to come back and get out of the street. There was a lot of running by Daddy and chasing him around the neighborhood. He was a bad dog so we had to put him up since he wouldn't listen. The snow just kept coming. Ms. Abby and Mr. Jim called to see if we wanted to meet them to go sledding and of course we said "Sure". Stay tuned...

Happy 2010 and first snow

2010 finally came. We celebrated with friends until 10:00 and then headed home since it was past my bedtime. Daddy left for a few days on a retreat with his students, leaving Mommy and me at home with Mr. David. It snowed for the first time this year while her was gone. While it wasn't a lot, we did get out to play in it since we weren't sure it would snow again. We made a little bitty snowman in the front yard and used Mommy's snowman kit she got last year in her stocking. We made snow angels. Then Mommy and Mr. David took turns pulling me around the front yard on the disk (with an extension cord as the rope because that's how we do it down South). I loved being pulled around. We even tried to make snowballs but the snow wasn't sticky enough. Mr. David got out our new video camera and taped us so hopefully I can get that up for everyone to see. It shows me having fun and mommy falling down on her bottom which was not good since she is carrying baby sister. Her bottom hurt for a long time but she was okay. Daddy did make it home to see the snowman before he melted. (I am wearing my new pink hat that Ms. Kelly made in these pictures. She did a great job!)

I'm a Gamer

Carlisle's my name and winning is my game! Grandpa and Granny gave me Candyland for Christmas and I love it. I have found a love for games. Aunt Michelle gave me a Hungry Caterpillar game too. I am pretty good at both. Mommy and I picked up some card games shortly after Christmas and I have conquered those too. Old Maid makes me a little mad though because I don't like the Old Maid. Come play with me sometime!

I also had friends Travis and Taylor over during the holidays with their parents. We played, played, played and exchanged gifts. They gave me my own tool set like Handy Manny's. Now I can help Daddy around the house with all the projects. We tried several times to get a group picture of us all and finally got one....

My microphone

After playing with my puppy dogs most of Christmas morning, I discovered my microphone was super fun. Below are pictures of me enjoying the microphone. I liked singing Christmas Carols, letting Palmer the dog sing, singing a duet with daddy while he wore the headset, and then me relaxing and reciting my Veggie Tale Christmas cd. Mommy and Daddy say that my band is now complete but they are grateful for the volume control.

Christmas at my house

We made it home - by the way, did I mention that we were ALL healthy this year? No sneezes, no throw-up. It was really a great Christmas. On Christmas Eve we went to Ms. Kelly's house to eat her yummy cheesecake and wish her a Merry Christmas. She let me open my gifts from her and she had made me a brand new pink hat since I outgrew my old one. I love it! Then we went to our church and sang Christmas hymns. I even sang along and knew a bunch of them. I would hold my candle though because I was scared it was hot. Then we came home and put out milk and cookies for Santa and the Reindeer food (glitter, chex mix, and other yummy stuff) in the front yard. Then we slept.

When Daddy woke me up, I couldn't believe that Santa came and left a puppy dog and a microphone! I just stood upstairs staring down at the treasures. I finally made my way down and instantly started loving on Palmer the dog and the puppy Lucy. I dug in my stocking and found a cow to go in the manger with baby Jesus. And under the tree was a ballerina book about ME! Daddy read me the book immediately where I save the day by stepping in for the head ballerina who got the flu. My friends Ava and Corinne are in the book too. How neat is that?!?

Mommy and Daddy and I had a fun day playing and celebrating Jesus' birthday. Hope you did too.

Christmas celebration continued

After visiting Papa Nick and Memie's, we went to Grandpa and Granny's house across town. I got to help Granny make the Christmas Cake and decorate it with lots of sprinkles. I played with my cousins Dylan, Holden, and Grayson and, of course, entertained everyone. Uncle Andrew gave me a golf bag - a real one - and I love it!I put it on my back and wouldn't take it off. When I got home, I put all my real clubs in the bag, and noticed there was room for more and told Daddy that I could use a few more. The weather has been so cold since then, but i was finally able to take the bag out in the yard and swing my clubs. I am getting better but have to practice, practice. We had a big time at Grandpa and Granny's but had to head home so we could get ready for Christmas Eve.

Update on life since Christmas

Hello all! Man my mommy is behind on things. You would think she's been busy or something. I finally got her to get pictures from Christmas off of her camera so I can update everyone on my life.

When I last left you, I had been to see Santa a couple of times and we were in the middle of the holiday season. I took Mommy and Daddy to see my grandparents for a few days where we ate well and were showered with gifts. Baby Sister even got a few things! I had fun at Papa Nick and Memie's house playing with all Mommy's old toys. I received my first "Darbie doll" who was Snow White and all her dwarfs. I was really excited about it and jumped up and down a bunch when I opened her. Mommy and Daddy also celebrated with Memie and Papa Nick while we were there. They have been married 40 years. I can't count that high, but I know its a lot. We had a lot of fun but had to leave because we had more family to go see.
