Here are a few pictures of Me and Baby sister (I call her that instead of Hallie). Mommy is so excited to have 2 girls and can't wait to watch us play together. I am so glad Baby Sister is a prat of our family now.

I'm Here!

Well I am finally here and I am Hallie. The week I was born there was a lot going on - carrying my big sister around, working, shopping, cooking, and it was all too much on me inside Mommy's belly. I had to get out of there! So I decided to make my appearance early. I have heard Mommy saying that I would be on my own agenda and schedule and smaller than my sister and have dark hair. She wasn't too far off. I really like my family so far. My big sister does kiss me a lot and I am not on a schedule which throws Mommy off sometimes but I like it like that. I am not too crazy about sharing a blog with my big sister but Mommy says I have to. Its part of being in a family. So thanks for making me feel welcome and loved and stay tuned for MY adventures!

Hugs,
Hallie Mae

My Big News!

Most of you probably have heard by now but I have not told you officially that I am a BIG SISTER! Hallie Mae Kirk was born 2 weeks ago. She came early. Mommy and Daddy woke me up early one morning and said I had to go play with my friend Lindy for the day while they went to the hospital just to make sure Mommy was ok since she wasn't feeling good. Daddy called to tell me that Baby Sister was going to be born that day. I was worried about Mommy but was having fun at Lindy's house. Ms. Kelly came and got me so I could take a nap and then she took me to the hospital to see Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Sister. I like baby sister's name but it is not spelled the same as mine. She has the same last name as I do. She does look like a boy and sleeps a lot. I really like to hold her and smell to see if she has a poopy diaper. I also like to help change her diaper. She does cry some and sometimes it wakes me up but mostly she sleeps. I love being a big sister!
(NOTE **We will keep this blog and update it with tidbits from Hallie and Carlisle.**)

The Best Pajama Party

Hi all! After I was diagnosed with Strep and got some medicine the doctor said I would be fine for my rescheduled birthday party. My friend Corinne and I had a pajama party with a few of our 4 year old friends - Lindy, Ava, and Brooke plus Corinne's sisters Kiley and Eve. Everyone came in the their pajamas and brought a sleeping bag and a stuffed animal. Ava lives down the street and arrived in style to the party.

We started off the party with reading a book in the dark that you have to use a flashlight for. Then we played musical sleeping bags. The Daddies hid the stuffed animals we had, and we played hide and seek with them. Then we all went downstairs for cake and ice cream. We finished the party with a glowstick party. Our flashlights we also glowsticks - red, green, blue. Only one person got hurt that the glowstick dance party. It was a lot of fun though. Corinne and I opned our gifts after everyone left. I gave her a purple cat blanket just like my gray koala blanket. We both had a great day!

Miss Nelson is Missing as well as my health

After my actual birthday, my health headed downhill. I had a birthday party planned with my friend Corinne and I had to cancel it. My grandparents were coming to town and I had to tell them not to come. I was sick! Finally I went to the doctor and I had strep. The doctor said I would be fine 24 hours after I took medicine so I should be fine to go to a play with my Memie and attend my rescheduled birthday party.

So Memie came and took me to see the play "Miss Nelson is Missing" which I loved. I sat on the edge of my seat the whole time. I also taught myslef to whistle while I was sick. The docor told me he didn't know any 4 year olds who could whistle. I love to whistle and do it all the time now. Give me a song and I will whistle it for you!

More Bike News

I finally got on my big girl bike and immediately took off (in the garage). It was cold outside so we rode it in the garage for awhile. Mommy started crying when she saw me riding saying I would be driving soon. Something was wrong with her. Finally Daddy talked me in to riding down the street on my new bike. I took off and haven't looked back. Little sister can ride my tricycle when she gets big enough. Oh, and I still haven't worn my new glitery shoes but the are pretty to look at.

My Big Girl Bike!

After the chocolate muffin and gift opening, Mommy and Daddy took me outside to see my gift from them. I opened my eyes and cou;dn't believe what I saw - a big gilr bike. I was so shocked that I wouldn't go near it. There were glittery shooes on the bike too. I just laughed and laughed. You see I have been pretty happy with my tricycle but knew my friends all had bikes. I had mentioned wanting one but didn't talk about it too much. Finally I made Daddy sit on the bike to make sure it was real and would work. He sat on it but was too big to ride it. More to come on the bike adevnture...

My actual birthday

I turned 4 can you believe it?!? I started off my big day with storytime at the library and then a trip to get my haircut and special glitter spray in my hair. On the way home, I fell asleep and Mommy knew something was wrong because I don't fall asleep in the car - at all. I was running a temperature so I rested. When Daddy go home we celebrated with a chocolate muffin and a big sound of "Happy Birthday" to me. It made me smile for a few minutes but I was feeling pretty bad. I did open my gifts which gave me a burst of energy but did not last for long. I will next post my big gift from Mommy and Daddy - stay tuned!

My Birthday week finally arrived!

Finally my birthday week arrived! It was jam-packed with lots of activities and exciting things that Mommy and Daddy had been talking about for a long time AND baby sister still had not come so we were all glad that we would be able to have fun and not be in the hospital.

My friend Corinne's birthday is the day before mine and we celebrated at school and then that night we had our first school performance. The theme of the show was "Main Street". My class was firefighters and we showed our athletic ability to the sing "Hurry, Hurry drive the fire truck". I was the lead fireman which is a very special job! We had to carry the hose, then climb through a tunnel, then hop through circles on the floor, and then circle around with the parachute - all while wearing our firemen outfits and hurrying to the music! My class did a great job and I loved watching the other classes perform. Daddy took some video which I will show you as soon as he figures out how to edit it.

Mommy got BIG!

At the end of February some of Mommy's friends had a party for her and brought things for baby sister. The party was also for Miss Amanda who is having a baby too. Miss Abby came and she is having a baby too. Mommy brought all the gifts home and let me open all of them! I lvoed going through everything and kept saying "Aw! That's so cute!" There was even a gift for me! Mommy also brought home a yummy treat from the party. Miss Jenn made "Hot Chocolate on a stick" with yummy chocolate and marshmallows that you stirred in hot milk to make hot chocolate. That was too busy for me so I just ate the chocolate (see below me enjoying it and then wondering where it went!). Look at Mommy's tummy isn't it BIG! I have been telling her its big. I can't wait for Baby Sister to come. We are getting ready around here.

Valentine's Day

Hi all! The snow around here delayed our school Valentine's Party in addition to something else delaying my updating the blog - more on that later. I made Valentine's for all my classmates and teachers with my Memie when she stayed with me before Valentine's. I received a Valentine from everyone in my class plus my teachers. I also got a bunch of new toys for Valentine's day. Memie and Papa Nick found in their house all of Mommy's old Strawberry Shortcake dolls. How exciting is that?!? I love playing with them. Mommy and Daddy said they are alittle overwhelmed at the number of dolls in our house now. I love Strawberry Shortcake!

Wow things have changed!

I know what you are all thinking, that I will talk about how my house has changed in the past two weeks, but I need to catch you up on my life BEFORE that.

I have been working real hard on writing my name at school. I have posted some samples. I like to write my name in a circle, sometimes backwards, and sometimes in a straight line. I also drew my first person drawing (seen below). I drew 4 people one for each of the people in my family but Mommy said they all looked the same so I just posted 2 people. I also try real hard to color in the lines when I color but I didn't have an example of that at the time of publishing. I also can write my friends' names (they have less letters than I do in their names). Stay tuned for a few more stories before my big announcement.
