Some things never change

The joys of Summer

Now that summer is here I have been enjoying all the things that come with summer (except the mosquito bites). I love to go swimming and to the zoo. I love Popsicles and fresh produce. I love to eat corn on the cob like Mommy and Daddy. I play in my splish splash pool while Mommy dangles her feet in. I love to play with playdough when it is too hot to go outside. I love to go to the creek (in the picture with friends Travis and Taylor) with my bucket and throw rocks. And I love to ride my tricycle. Summer is so fun!

Uncle Andrew

My Uncle Andrew came over one day last month. He barely sat down to eat his dinner when I insisted on him playing with me. He had to eat and play at the same time and ate his dinner at record speed. He wore my sunglasses which I helped him put on. He also played hide and seek with me (my new favorite game). He was a good seeker. Hekept falling asleep so I would yell "Wake up!" and he would jump up awake. I don't know why he was so tired after playing with me?

Getting Big and Strong

I am getting Big and Strong; I tell Mommy and Daddy all the time. So I have been working on new things like brushing my teeth and giving myself a bath. Mommy said we needed to start working on taking on and off my clothes to help me with potty training. So here I am working on taking off my shoes. I find it easier to lay down; don't you?!?

Playing with my Friends

A daily ritual for me is to play with my stuffed animals and babies. As you may know I have named the potato heads Cake and Abby. My 2 babies are named Audrey after my friend John Mark's sister, and then I have Bear, Big Bear, and Pig. They sit in chairs or the couch downstairs and I tend to them. I line them up and snuggle them into their spot. Then I will tell them its time to go "nigh-nigh" and cover them with a blanket. Then I will cover them with another blanket. Mommy has limited me to using 4 blankets. If she is folding towels, I sometimes grab one of those when she isn't looking. Then I leave over them to say prayers and I say
God our Father, God our Father
Once again, Once again
We bow ourheads skank you, We bow ourheads skank you, (We bow our heads to thank you)
Amen, Amen.

Then my friends are alseep!

I love swinging!

Hello all! I wanted to share with you one of my great loves...swinging. If I am not swining in a swing myself then I am pushing a swing that is either empty or has something in it. I have pushed swings with rocks in it, Cake and Abby the potatoheads, my Baby, and people. If you are with me on a playground, watch out because I am headed to the swings and I don't wait patiently for my turn, because I only prefer the swings!

These are pictures from a day with Perry where I played with her and her swing. I would push her, then stop her and ask if she wanted to go higher, and then push her again. Thankfully she didn't mind the starting and stopping like some people do. I have discovered though that now summer is here, the swings are hot and not so fun to be on so I have had to play with other things.

Lots of Fun with Mommy

Where have you been? Or where have I been? Outside!!! I am having so much fun outside. Mommy and I have been planting in the pots and gardening and watering the plants. I love to hold the water hose and use my watering can. We planted some marigold seeds that are coming up. I will let you know how they do in the summer heat. My favorite thing in the garden are the roses and the daisies. There are all kinds of bugs and animals outside that I see and am learning about. I have seen bees, wasps, mosquitos, hummingbirds, turkey buzzards, birds, ants, spiders, rolly pollies, dragonflies, and lots of other things. I have been trying to learn about all of them but its tough trying to keep them straight. MOre to come on my summer fun....

Finally, Easter Day

We celebrated Easter at our church and then gathered at my friends John Mark and Audrey's house for lunch. I sat at the big kid table all by myself with Mommy and Daddy in the other room. I did participate in a small egg hunt in their back yard but abandoned that for the swingset. It was pretty chilly so I didn't swing long. It was a wonderful day with family and friends.

Speaking of swings, I am pretty addicted to swinging lately. Its the only thing I like to do on the playground. I even like to swing the swings. At school I swing rocks and at the park I like to swing my baby or Cake/Abby. Its hard for me to share the swings because I don't like to do anything else. Mommy tells me I have to take turns but I just don't get that yet because I don't think other kids have a passion for swinging like I do. Someday maybe I will have my own swing.

The last of the egg hunts

My friends,
I share with you the last of the egg hunts of the season (and then end of the candy and cookies that come in lareg quantities). My Mommy and Daddy's Sunday School class had their annual party at my friend Lindy's house. I had so much fun playing, swinging, and running. Mommy and Daddy discovered that I don't eat well at social events. I wouldn't even eat mac and cheese! There was too much fun to be had. I hunted lots of eggs (not enough with chocolate in them) and ate lots of cookies. The last picture is of me eating my last cookie (maybe number 5)evident by the sprinkles around my mouth. I was trying to hide it from Mommy and Daddy.

Random News

I have a few random thoughts to tell you. First, Daddy and I are just now coming out of our sadness of the Memphis Tigers not winning the National Championship. We yelled as hard as we could and tried our best to be the best fans. We are getting excited about next year and the years to come and have picked a new player to yell for. His name is "Willie" which is good because I already know a "Willie".

I also have BIG news. I have eaten pizza and one spaghetti noodle. The three pieces of pizza the size of nickels were eaten at a birthday party and everyone else was doing so I succumb to peer pressure. The noodle was eaten at home with daddy just before I figured out it could stick to my head. Mommy and Daddy said if I eat Italian food by the time I am 18 they will take me to Italy someday.

One day Mommy couldn't decide what hat to put on me for the day so I decided to wear both. I thought I was being very stylish and sensible. One was for warmth and one was to shade my face.

I wanted to share how fun the zoo is now. I can actually find the animals and point at them. Sometimes I can even say their names and make the noise they make. On this day I really enjoyed watching the giraffes run and eat. They were so big! I have enjoyed the books from the library by Eric Carle about animals. Mommy catches me walking around the house saying "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?" or "Peacock, Peacock, what do you hear?"

Dying Eggs

There are lots of activities that surrounded Easter that we got involved in, and one of those was dying eggs at our house. I really liked dropping the eggs in the different colored cups, but I was not too good at waiting for the eggs to change colors. Daddy made a special egg with stripes that Granny taught him to make when he was little. After the egg dying, mommy taught me the bunny hop in the kitchen. I kept saying "again, again". I love all the fun things we do!

Chocolate Bunny

Here is my annual picture of me in Memie's bunny ears. I thought that Bear needed to get in on the fun too. I think her is smiling, don't you?

Mommy and Daddy have been really entertained by me lately. I like to play "circus" which is where I line all of my Little People and Animals up and then yell "Boys and Girls. Welcome to the Circus!" I do this with my hands covering my mouth. Sometimes Mommy and Daddy try to help me and yell the words, but I tell them "Not Ready". I also like for my stuffed animals to be included in my daily life so they get to sit at the table with a plate and cup or take a nap. I have become pretty attached to my potato heads who I have named "Cake and Abby" after my friends "Kate and Abby". They are constantly changing body parts so sometimes they have two sets of eyes or a tongue for a nose and teeth for hair. Lastly, I have been playing on my water table since the weather has been so nice, and have been making "Chocolate Bunnies". I heard mommy and daddy ask each other what chocolate bunnies were and both couldn't figure it out. One night I pulled out the Nesquick box (the one with the brown bunny on the front) and asked for chocolate milk and that's when they figured out what "Chocolate Bunnies" were.

Carlisle's my name; Egg Huntin' is my game

I really got to enjoy lots of egg hunts this year. And with each one, I got better and better and hunting eggs. My first egg hunt was in my neighborhood where I had to hunt with the older kids. In the pictures you can see me spotting the egg, running to it, and then getting it. I was really good at opening the eggs and finding the prize inside, but I was really disappointed when it wasn't chocolate. There was an Easter Bunny at my neighborhood egg hunt, but I wasn't too sure about him. I also attended an egg hunt with Perry and we shared some eggs together (I let her have the ones without chocolate.) More egg hunt pictures to come.

More Snow Day Pictures

A few more pictures from the snow day for you to enjoy.

I'm Back!

I know you all missed me. Mommy's computer was not speaking to Blogger and vice versa, but they have made up and are friends again. I wanted to back track and share pictures from our big snow back in March. Mommy and Daddy were SO excited and got me all bundled up and talked about sledding, snowballs, snowmen, but they didn't mention the COLD SNOW. I didn't enjoy the snow, my boots falling off, or sledding. They were so disappointed. Mommy and Daddy did get to sled a few times on the big hill behind the house before I started crying. After a quick trip inside, I was talked in to playing on the deck and building a snowman. That was fun. I even made snowballs and threw they up in the air. We ended the day with a fire in the fireplace....our first and last of the year!
